This year, the department of theatre, film and digital production (TFDP) at UC Riverside, announces our first ever filmmaking scholarship, the Andrew and Michael LeMond Memorial Scholarship Endowed Fund, honoring the memory of Andrew and Michael LeMond.
This is the department’s first scholarship to recognize students in the filmmaking track. The department will make its first award during the winter quarter of the 2017-2018 academic year with an announcement at our annual Department Film Festival on Friday, April 27, 2018.
All declared undergraduate students in our department, in the filmmaking track, who demonstrates financial need and have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The spirit of this award maintains that recipients – this year and in all years that follow – demonstrate unwavering passion for their craft and serve as a kind and uplifting force in the department.
To apply, please send the following materials by January 15:
- A letter of interest stating why you deserve the award, and explaining your financial need while also detailing your interest and work so far in filmmaking.
- A link, flash drive or DVD of one short film film project in which you have participated that you feel best represents your work. In your cover letter, be sure to also be clear about your role on the submitted project.
