Still in River City. By choice, not incarceration (which it would take for some of you to stay in the IE).
I have 3 teenage boys (How did that happen?!) and a husband of almost 20 years who likes to tear down walls (luckily we own our home--or at least parts of it). Although there have been challenges, most days I am almost embarassingly happy.
I returned to UCR in 2002 as part of the inaugural class of the Creative Writing & Writing for the Performing Arts MFA program. UCR has been generous in producing and supporting my work and they even saw fit to hire me as the undergraduate playwriting teacher for the last 3 years. It is the best job in the world; the students are bright and funny and committed. I get to share one of my greatest passions with people who are eager to learn. Of course, I have no benefits, have to pay for parking and could be fired at any time (just so you didn't think my life was perfect).
One the other side of the writing spectrum, I work as a writer for CB Richard Ellis, the world's largest commercial real estate company and surprisingly, it's turned out to be an enjoyable job as well.
I would love to here from any of my old pals.

After getting my BA at UCR, I went on to get an MA in Oral Interpretation at Cal State Fullerton. I had an agent for awhile, and of course my own series on Fox ... not ... and am now happily out of the business that I was never actually in. I live in Moreno Valley with my wife of 25 years, Mary, and we are looking forward to the birth of our second grandchild and first grandson. God, that makes me feel old.

I've been at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for 9 years–I head the performance area and teach acting and speech for the stage. I continue to work professionally as an actor, having just spent 7 seasons at the Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City, UT (2001-2007). UNLV is a U/RTA school with an on-campus professional theatre (Nevada Conservatory Theatre). After attending UCR, I received my MFA degree at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.

Title: Artistic Director
Since 1998, I have been the artistic director of the Sacramento Theatre Company, a professional resident theatre serving the Northern California area. I am also a professor of theatre at UC Davis. After years of freelance directing, I am enjoying living in one place, raising my family and directing exciting new and classical work.
