Title: Professor of Theatre

I am Professor, Resident Scenic & Lighting Designer, and Chair of the Dept. of Theatre and Communication Arts at Whittier College.  I design scenery for theatres and colleges elsewhere when time permits.  Member of the Board of Directors, U.S. Institute for Theatre Technology.  Member and Western Region Trustee, United Scenic Artists (Local USA-829).   M.F.A., Humboldt State University.  At UCR, I studied design/tech with Gerry Hariton, Jim Dooley, and the late Jim Moran (who--sad to say--died of cancer in 1994 at the age of 39) and dramatic lit with Jules Aaron.  I'd enjoy hearing from my fellow theatre alums from the mid to late 70's. I've lost touch with all but a couple of them.

Curtis pursued a technical emphasis in lighting design while at UCR. The "real world" got to him and the last theatre work he did was hanging lights for "Greek" at the Matrix on Melrose back in the early 80s.

He ended up getting a job in data processing to make ends meet, and that is what he is doing now. He is a systems analyst in the Seattle area, divorced (from a UCR grad), and has an eight year old daughter.

Tom produces Ray Bradbury's plays and has run Ray Bradbury's Pandemonium Theatre Company in Los Angeles for the last 17 years. He has also managed various film and television productions in Los Angeles for over 20 years. Tom remembers when Theatre Department Chair Eric Barr first arrived at UCR in 1975; Tom designed the set for Eric's first local one-mime show: Eric Barr, A Bare-Faced Mime. We've come a long way, Eric.
