Dr. Erith Jaffe-Berg, Prof. and Chair of the Department of Theatre, Film and Digital Production attended a conference in the Ducal Palace in Venice, Italy commemorating 500 years to the foundation of the Jewish Ghetto, which was the first of its kind. Prof. Jaffe-Berg spoke about the importance of the performing arts to the cultural life of Venice and Northern Italy in the Renaissance. Her work illuminated ways in which the Jewish community performed plays as a means of creating cultural dialogue at a time in which minority communities were otherwise separated.
